AIRPORT AND TRANSFERS:
Krakow Airport is situated conveniently on the Balice outskirts of the city, just 15 km (about ten miles) west from central Krakow. The journey by car takes approx 15-20min.
***
Remember to get some Polish money (Polish Złoty –Polish Gold) from the cash machine when you arrive at the airport, at least enough to pay for your transfer to central Krakow. There are at least two cash machines available in the main terminal building. I would discourage anyone from exchanging money at any airport. Exchange rates are simply ridiculous! You will get a lot more for your money by using cash machines. The airport is small so you shouldn’t encounter any problems.

Travel between central Krakow and the airport is quick and easy. There are three options available:
BUS Local bus (208, 902) is cheap (0.60 GBP) but I’d say a bad option if you don’t know where you are or where you’re heading! So I would avoid that one.
TRAIN Fast railway line train service connecting the main railway station, Dworzec Główny, with Krakow airport runs approximately every half hour from 4am until midnight. Tickets are available on board for about 6 PLN (1.50 GBP). The platform is approximately 200 metres from the passenger terminal though a free shuttle bus is on hand for the weary. Journey time is approx. 15 minutes.
TAXI which is on hand immediately upon arrival, is my preferred option. At least you get taken straight to your hotel, hostel or apartment. A trip to central Krakow shouldn’t cost more than 70 PLN (about 17-18 GBP). Much more than that means you’ve been taken for a ride, which happens to tourists around the world…so I recommend asking for the approximate cost before closing the door! If they say too much just approach another cab.
